Hannibal (TV Series 2013–2015) is not quite the same as the motion pictures. The movie ‘Silence of the lambs’ was captivating yet hauntingly cold. The 1991 crime drama was somewhat a revolutionary for modern day ‘TV psychopaths’. Leaving movie-goers at the edge of their seats while highlighting a very controversial Antagonist (Yes! That’s right it’s ‘Buffalo Bill’).

The ‘Hannibal’ series, on the other hand investigates the passionate side of Dr. Hannibal Lecter, his association with his partners and his bonding with companions. This, of course, doesn’t sound very ‘grasping’ and interesting at first, I can guarantee you, it’s much more ‘horrifyingly thrilling’ than the movies. So much as to leave you with that iron-like ‘bloody’ taste on your tongue, just exactly what we expect from such thrillers.

I observed it to be exceptionally artistic where Hannibal himself looks into the life of wanted criminals. With the help of Will Graham and his amazingly observant and solving qualities, along with Will’s difficulties of being constantly tormented by his very own creative mind.

One thing I absolutely loved about the show, is how Brian Fuller had portrayed the secondary characters. They felt as if they were equally important as the leading line of characters, which leads us to the second genius. It persuaded the viewers that, in fact, all small things does matter and we must pay heed equally to all aspects, call it problem or life.

The second thing I noticed and learned from the show is how each season is capable of standing perfectly on its own without much need of a successor. While another season may help for a more detailed insight of past events, it’s amazing how each season possesses its own charisma and end with their own cliff- hangers, each bolder than the last.

All in all, the serious and tense tone of the series keeps viewers stuck to the screen, at the same time pursuing a killer plot with few, yet much need comic relief. The disclosure on Dr. Hannibal Lecter that is slowly unleashed to the audience about his advanced and sleek depiction is enrapturing and enticingly unusual. If you’re looking for a show that will take you to a more profound universe of spine chilling plot, incredibly built realistic characters and wild creative mind, then this is the show for you.
