Over the years, from being a non-honey-lover to an over-enthusiastic honey worshipper, I can loudly vouch for the many benefits of honey. Honey is blessed with absolute diversity. It is not only there to be your breakfast pancake syrup, trust me.

So, here are some of the most useful ways honey can be utilized.

 

  1. Face and body masks

For all those who are living in the dark, honey is a boon for skin. It softens and smoothens skin greatly. Yes! It is a great moisturizer. Honey is anti-bacterial so it also masters in getting rid of acne and pimples.

One of the easiest homemade honey masks includes 2tsp of honey and half a lemon juice. This mask will be very liquid almost like water so you will have to rub your face or body with it. You can leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash it off. Your skin will feel instantly splendid soft and glowing. With regular practice of this brilliant routine, you will see a much softer and smoother version of your skin altogether.

Disclaimer: A lot of us get instant irritation with the application of lemon juice in our face so just try a little bit as a test first and then apply it all over your face. What you can also do is only apply a thin layer of honey without any lemon juice if you are allergic to it. Just plain honey also generates unbelievable results.

 

  1. Substitute for sugar

We all are aware that sugar is very harmful for our health in so many ways. On the other hand, honey is much healthier. Therefore, you can easily substitute honey on your tea or coffee for sugar. You can also use honey in making juices and milkshakes at home.

Honey of course has sugar in it but it also has water which table sugar does not, so comparatively honey has fewer calories than sugar. In simple words, substituting honey instead of your sugar in your drink will make it healthier and you will not have to compromise on the sweetness!

When it comes to our lips, honey is an amazing moisturizing agent and also very effective in exfoliation.

For this scrub, you will need 1tbsp of honey, 1tbsp of sugar and little bit of rosewater to make the scrub softer. Scrub this mixture on your lips gently for a few minutes and then wash it off. You will have bidden farewell to the dead cells of your lips!

Just add about 1tsp of honey in a glass of warm water. You can also add half a tsp. of cumin powder in this to make it healthier.

Drinking this water every morning empty stomach transforms your energy level, improves the immune system greatly, assists towards weight loss and is a godsend for beautiful skin.

We all struggle with dry and rough elbows more or less. For some of us who are tired of moisturizing our elbows with lotions and creams and are still stuck with patchy elbows, honey, my friends, is bliss!
