How To Make Easy And Simple Bread Pudding?

One of the all-time classic desserts is bread pudding.

This dessert is merely mouth-watering when Grandma used to make it. The perfect bread pudding with some simple classic flavours is all we needed back in our vacation.

On top of that, adding some raisins and pecans on top with a little caramel and cream would be perfection!

So here we have a simple and easy recipe on bread pudding that you could make it all by yourself. In the end, we promise, it’s going to taste something just like Grandma’s.

 

What is Bread Pudding?

Of course, we know it’s a dessert, but did you know that it’s something that you can make with very few ingredients? That’s right!

This traditional bread pudding can be made with cubed bread hurled in a simple custard mixture and baked until it turns golden. There are many other types of bread pudding today, we’ll show you the recipe of just the classic version.

REMEMBER: To make the most fabulous bread pudding, all you need to have is the right ratio of the bread to the custard mixture in order to get the perfect texture. While the ratio is essential, it is also important to note that the bread you use in the making can make or break your dish!

It’s pretty simple, and you don’t need to worry about it at all.

However, since bread is the necessary ingredient, you really need to use great bread! You sure want a bread that does not get mushy, but stand up well, giving a great flavour and texture on its own so that the bread itself adds some flavour.

 

Bread Pudding Sauce

The sauce is its key. You can effortlessly make a caramel sauce at home for the perfect kid-friendly drizzle.

Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • A ½ cup of heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  • In a small pan, mix sugar, water and corn syrup. Bring it to a boil over medium heat.
  • Allow the mixture to turn liquid and wait till it becomes a golden/amber colour. It may take about 15 minutes, but keep a close eye on it.
  • When the mixture has turned into a right colour, remove it from the stove. Keep stirring the mixture and slowly pour heavy cream in it. Stir the ingredients, and it’s ready!

 

How to Make Bread Pudding

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cooking time: 1 hour | Total time: 1 hour 15 minutes

Bread Pudding Ingredients

  • 10 slices of bread
  • A ½ cup of raisins
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 and a ¾ cups of light cream
  • A ¼ cup of brown sugar
  • A ¼ cup of white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter

 

Let’s Get Started…

  1. First things first, make sure that before you get started, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Furthermore, butter an 8-inch baking dish.
  2. Cut the slices of bread into 1-inch of pieces and place them on a baking sheet. Bake it nicely for 4 minutes and then cool them down to room temperature.
  3. Meanwhile, on the other hand, whisk the eggs, sugar, cream, cinnamon and vanilla on another bowl.
  4. Once the mixture gets mixed well, pour it over the bread slices. Add raisins and toss it over lightly. I would always recommend you to use your hands in order to avoid the break from breaking up.
  5. Place this on a baking dish. Don’t forget to drizzle butter over this mixture.
  6. Bake it for at least 35 – 40 minutes. Once done, take the dish out and insert a knife in its centre to see if it comes out clean.
  7. Your bread pudding is now ready to be served! Serve it warm or in room temperature, your guests are going to love it.
