4-Minute Microwave Super Soft Teacake!

This simple teacake or butter cake is unbelievably delicious and easy to make. But the magical part is it takes only 4 minute to make in the microwave!

Serves: 5 people

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup Flour
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 4½ tbsp melted unsalted butter
  • 4tbsp warm milk (heat the milk up in a microwave for 10-15 seconds, do not use boiled milk)
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 tsp custard powder (optional)
  • 1 drop of Yellow food color (optional)

Procedure:

Mix all the dry ingredients(flour, sugar, baking powder salt and custard powder) on a bowl, straining them. Then pour in the wet ingredients(melted butter, milk and food color) on the same bowl including the two eggs and mix them well using an electric mixer or a beater. Make sure there are no lumps in your mixture. I have used a drop of yellow food color to add a pop of hue to the aesthetics of the cake; you can easily avoid this step if you want to.

Take a 2-liter microwave safe bowl with a flat surface. Grease it with butter or oil and pour in the batter. Tap it to remove air bubbles. Put it in the oven without any lid for 2 minutes at first. Then have a look at it and put it back for another 2 minutes. To check if your cake is ready, use a toothpick to insert in on the cake all the way down and take it out. If the toothpick comes out clean, your cake is ready! Take the cake out and cover it with a lid for about 5 to 10 minutes. This step is very important for the cake to remain soft. Afterwards use a plate to turn the cake upside down and garnish it with nuts.

Serve it hot or refrigerate it for 3-4 hours and dig in.
